Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

​Dr. Guodong Pan   MD,  Ph.D,  L.Ac
Dr. Pan has over twenty years of clinical experience in China and Acupuncture practice in GA and Michigan. He graduated from Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997, majoring in Acupuncture and Orthopedics. After graduation, he obtained the qualification of TCM practitioner, and worked in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Shiyan People's Hospital, Hubei, China. He has provided practices for patients who were mainly suffering with hypertension, diabetes, paralysis after a stroke, bone and joint diseases, various chronic pains, as well as other chronic diseases. He has been good at treating patients with Acupuncture, electrical Acupuncture, Cupping, Massage and Traditional Chinese Medicine. He also had work experience in the emergency department and can properly handle acute and critical illnesses. His PHD program in metabolic bone diseases was completed at the Medical College of Georgia in the United States.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a gentle type of full-body massage that’s ideal for people who are new to massage, have a lot of tension, are sensitive to touch. It can help release muscle knots, and it’s also a good choice for when you want to fully relax during a massage.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. This type of therapeutic massage is similar to a Swedish massage, only the massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands. It eases muscle tension, improves blood flow, and relieves pain by using heated stones. Hot stone massage may help: ease muscle tension, improve blood flow, alleviate pain, promote relaxation and relieve stress.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress. It can also help improve: flexibility, circulation and energy levels.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It’s a good option if you have chronic muscle problems, such as soreness, injury, or imbalance. It can help relieve tight muscles, chronic muscle pain, and anxiety.

Acupressure Massage

Acupressure is a specific type of massage that relies primarily on using the thumbs, fingers and palms to apply pressure to various points on the body. Therapists may use various rhythms, pressures and techniques in the practice.  

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle, such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you’re prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries. You may also use sports massage to increase flexibility and performance. Additionally, sports massage can be used to relieve pain, anxiety, and muscle tension. 

Tui Na Massage

The session timings may vary depending on the patient’s needs and condition. Clients remain clothed, wearing loose clothing. tui na methods can include soft tissue massage, manipulation, acupressure in conjunction with herbal compresses, ointments, liniments, and heat. The best part of the therapy is that it relaxes as well as energizes the person. The main benefit of tui na massage is that it focuses on the specific problem, whether it is an acute or a chronic pain associated with the joints, muscles or a skeletal system. This technique is very beneficial in reducing the pain of neck, shoulders, hips, back, arms, highs, legs and ankle disorders. It is a very effective therapy for arthritis, pain, sciatica and muscle spasms. The greatest advantage of tui na is that it focuses on maintaining overall balance with both physical and mental health.

Foot Reflexology

​Foot Reflexology massage can be a deeply relaxing and therapeutic modality for those suffering from plantar fasciitis, ankle injuries or even everyday work and play. At Capella Care, your massage therapist will apply traditional Swedish and sports massage techniques to the foot, calf and upper leg. This will not only help relieve toe pain, ankle pain, plantar fasciitis and common forms of arthritis, but can also decrease stress and anxiety in the entire body. In addition, a variety of stretches can be beneficial. With pain and sensitivity in the foot, heel and calf areas, be sure to communicate your pain levels with your massage therapist during your treatment. It is also a good idea to rest after receiving the reflexology massage.
